Magical Schools and Words

In the meantime, to start the Dark Flames fanning outward, following are a few introductory words about magical Ways.

There exists for all of us an abundance of magical, magickal, philosophical, and similar systems. Each system may be considereed as, in and of itself, a unique or discrete container. We might call it a School or university. The guiding principles and teachings of such Schools are sometimes contained or crystallized in/by one or more Magical Words. Students (and teachers) of such Schools come and go. Many of those who stay are at times able to add something, sometimes substantially so, to the main teachings of such a School.

As stated, many magical or philosphical systems are predicated on a single watershed moment. For example, the Temple of Set's æon-changing Word, Xeper, presented to the world an opportunity to Become through what is called the Gift of Set.

Access to Information

Imagine... you have a need to access more data or more information about something that may be hidden – possibly occulted deep inside of you. You've tackled the problem or issue many times, using many techniques. But the core of it, the pure, undaulterated, unfiltered information of it, alludes you. What if there were techniques or actions or practices you could use, or a 'place' you could visit, that would lead to additional or deeper or more direct information? What if such a place could act as a gateway to other, external levels of sentience?

In a nutshell, using tools as simple as insight, or others potentially more suble, you can enhance the senses you already possess, you can go deeper. The tools I'm going to present here, part of a larger toolbox, may allow you to explore yourself - your own mind - just as you may also explore a larger, perhaps universal Information Pool. The set of tools, and the place, which is something I have called Synesis, may allow you to continue your journey of accessing information with more depth and clarity. Some have called such abilities psychic. They may or may not be. In the event it's important to you to be more conversant with that world - the world of parapsychology and psychic phenomena - I've provided a detailed dictionary of terms. It's a starting point. A Partial 'Dictionary' of Parapsychological Terms

I orignally developed a 'dictionary' of sorts of paranormal terms some 25 years ago. I developed it based on my own knowledge of parapsychology (for several years I was an active member of a funded, university-aligned research institute), and my growning knowledge of Black Magic. (Does the colour of magic trouble you? If so, just pretend I only said "magic.") Having said that, very few of the phenomena you'll read about require an initial, active knowledge or demonstrated use of psychic powers. Such powers and abilities are latent in all of us. They can be (a) remembered, and (b) developed. Please click this link if you'd like to start your journey by reviewing some of the definitions I've encountered in my journey in the abyss.

The Ping

So you can 'feel' it when someone's staring at you, or perhaps walking behind you? How do you explain that? Well how about rather than explain it, exploit it? Whether they intend it or not, you seem to be receiving something from the folks that stare or stalk you, or simply look or walk behind you. Was it that you saw them stare as soon as they started, or perhaps heard their footsteps? If not; then what? We're so focused on technology today that we've lost sight of whether tech mirrors physical reality or it's the other way around. In fact, both lend themselves to the other.

Consider... the "ping."

This one gives me cause to smile! If someone staring at you isn't 'pinging' you, I don't what they're doing. Somehow, some way, if you looked up, well, they got your attention. They got it even if they didn't want it. Maybe they were hankering for your coffee, admiring your boots, or wondering what would their chances be if they talked to you? Doesn't matter: it worked. So if it can work inadvertently, it can work when purpose and Will is put behind it. If you really want to initiate a conversation, or be visible, try this little three-part experiment:

1. Ping someone. Here, I don't mean your should text, e-mail, phone a person. I mean you should extend your mind's interest in getting that person's attention.

2. Wait. Dial down your active awareness and wait for the slightest nudge to arrive at your consciousness mind.

3. Acknowledge and continue. It may be, may just be, that you aroused the attention of that other person and that they're now in 'listening' mode. Continue with what's now become a sublime dialogue.

More Information is Closer than you Think

Strange enough 'things' happen in our normal lives to almost preclude at times the potentially limitless amount of information, states of being, sentience, and worlds that go by 80-90% unnoticed by most of us. Should we bother with all that? Should we even entertain the notion that more hypotheses, perhaps facts, support more kinds of theories than we can shake a stick at? You probably know my answer to that question. That's what I -- what we -- do here. Would you like to play?

While not exactly six degrees of separation, nor the hundreth monkey effect, there's something fascinating going on when (if?) you can double-back or trace the recent events of a person through contact with something they present today, you are in fact practicing a form of Synesis. Again, Synesis is considered a place by some, and a process by others.
